Well it’s pretty obvious on why you need to follow these kind of Instagram Accounts. You get Inspirations, Ideas, tricks etc.

But if we try to go a little deeper on how this helps through the roots. These are some of the points I’ve encountered.

  1. Your Environment Inspires You
  2. You Can Build A System To Get Inspired
  3. Get To Know Different Render Styles
  4. Plan Your Design Compositions Better

1. Your Environment Inspires You.

The environment we live in defines our result. The things we see, people we talk to, books we read, movies we watch and basically everything we set as our daily environment inspires our regular decisions, actions and inspirations.

What if You take control of your environment such that it gets you the best inspirations as an Architect?

Instagram is The Second Most used Social Media Platform with over 1 Billion users with every user spending an Average of 53 mins daily on Instagram.

This means for 1 hour of your life you are seeing something that can potentially inspire you.

Following Architecture Illustration Accounts or any other productive stuff can let you positively use this time.

2. Build A System To Get Inspired

“Systems Work People Fail”, as said by Vick Strizeus, founder of Four Percent, is applicable at every aspect of life.

Because when You build a system in such a way that it works for you consistently and unconsciously of your attention, you save a lot of time and energy.

Architecture Illustration is one such activity that is ever persistent in Architecture and the inspirations you get can be transformed into a system that unconsciously gets you inspired to keep on producing Better and Creative work.

Following these accounts and saving some of the Architecture Illustrations you like once in a while can save a ton of time later.

3. Get To Know Different Render Styles

I remember When I used to work on my Architectural drawings in isolation during my early months of Architecture School.

While working alone I felt my work to be the best possible design I could produce.

But during the weekly submissions, it was always clear how much more better I could perform and the kind of interesting ideas others came up with.

Everyone has their unique set of perspectives for their designs and illustrations.

When You Follow and are connected to a wide range of Illustration accounts, you get exposed to all of these different ideas turning your Account as a mastermind for Ideas.

A mastermind is a Collective mind made up of multiple productive minds.

Similarly Your Instagram Account can act as a collective of Multiple Architectural Illustration ideas you can use to explore and identify various different render styles that you prefer.

4. Plan Your Design Compositions Better

Planning Sheet presentation is very Important mostly for Architecture Students. Fitting those Architecture Illustrations perfectly to align to your thoughts and design is a skill.

When you already plan out what kind of Illustrations you wish to Present? What’s the scale required? What kind of Views to fit in?

Producing Architectural Illustrations gets easier and acts as a major Time Saver.

So being in touch with these Illustrations and renders can trigger amazing composition ideas for your sheets and help you to focus more attraction.

Now Let’s Look On How To Make The Most Of These Resources

1. Build A Swiped File

A Swiped File is a collection of Ideas that is commonly used by copywriters and art directors. Its based on the idea to use what has proven to get good results and reuse it with modifications and a taste of out own.

As Architects you can create your own Architecture Illustration Swiped Content on Instagram. Just save any of the content that you like. And try to apply it for your designs.

This way you could save some thinking time on presentations as there’s already so many ideas to choose from.

Tweak and Twist these presentation ideas, give them your own taste and You have a render done!

2. Refer Your Selected Images And Create Your Own Customized Style.

Building a swiped file provides you with multiple options of materials and the way with how these options look aesthetically.

You can identify any particular render style you want to go with. Suppose there’s not much time in hand.

Then just identify what minimal best illustration you can do within the time that you have. You might go for a monochromatic render or a realistic render or anything that suits your taste.

Also you can combine two to three similar styles to create a combination of your own. But keep in mind not to over do it. Less is More.

Some of the Attributes That can be referred to are:

  1. Forms
  2. Line Weights
  3. Materials / Colours
  4. Trees
  5. Humans
  6. Composition Style
  7. Render Style
  8. Scale
  9. Perspective
  10. Kind of View

3. Build Your Skills To Speed Up The Process

All these Architectural Illustrations might seem very much intimidating if you are not unconsciously competent with Rendering Software.

Up Skill yourselves with the software you like and prefer. I personally make use of Sketchup, Photoshop, AutoCAD, Lumion and V-ray for Sketchup for most of my Illustrations.

Once you are comfortable with using software, then its just a game. Miss Match different things, do trial and errors and you have a masterpiece.
